Apprentice Greenkeeper

About the role

The Apprentice Greenkeeper assists in delivering high-quality turf and sports ground maintenance across City-managed facilities. This includes supporting event preparation and operations under supervision while undertaking a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management through Kurri Kurri TAFE (one week per month). The role offers hands-on experience in greenkeeping practices, turf care, and facility upkeep, contributing to the presentation of world-class sporting venues.

About you

You are enthusiastic about working outdoors and learning the skills required for sports turf management. Reliable and motivated, you enjoy hands-on work and can follow instructions while contributing to a team environment. You will be committed to completing your Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, including attending training at Kurri Kurri TAFE for one-week blocks per month. Physical fitness, attention to detail, and a willingness to work in varying weather conditions will help you succeed in this role.
